Impact Foundry - Behind the Library
A Cinematic Sound Design Powerhouse Built for Modern Composers
By Kevin Manthei, composer & founder of Triumph Audio
I recorded a djembe in my master bathroom shower, a metal sculpture in Los Alamos California, and the heavy hitting of a water meter tool in my kitchen all in the name of chasing the perfect cinematic sound. Each of these odd, found objects became the building blocks of Impact Foundry, our largest and most unique library yet.
Impact Foundry is not just another sample library. It is a deeply crafted collection of cinematic sound design built from over 20 years of real-world scoring experience.
As a composer, I have always been drawn to sounds that feel unique and alive. That mindset started years ago working on projects like Invader Zim, Ultimate Spider-Man the video game, and Sacrifice. Those early experiments with hybrid sound design became the foundation for what Impact Foundry is today.
Over the last five years, I turned that approach into a focused process. Capture anything interesting. Shape it. Transform it. Turn it into something usable for composers who need sounds that stand out immediately.
Unique Sounds You Will Not Find Anywhere Else
One of the biggest challenges composers face today is sounding different. Too many libraries rely on the same source material and the same approaches.
Impact Foundry was built to solve that.
I recorded African cowbells, wind chimes from Roger's Gardens, and even a massive Paseo shipping container. Around Triumph Studios, I captured shovels, rakes, carts, and barn tools, along with warning sirens, power tools, razor buckets, flashlights, washing machines, and even a monster truck.
On the more subtle side, I recorded balloons, detuned guitar, drinking glasses, conch shells, and other small sources that revealed surprisingly rich tonal character.
These are not recycled sounds. They are original recordings with real personality, captured in unique spaces and designed to give your music an edge.
Real Percussion That Hits Hard
At the core of Impact Foundry is a foundation of real percussion, recorded to deliver both impact and authenticity.
I captured hand percussion like frame drum, djembes, skin drum, kalimba, shakers, and water drum, along with raw barn objects that add grit and texture. On the orchestral side, I recorded bamboo sticks, log percussion, bass drum, cymbals, snare drum, timpani, vibraslap, gong, cowbells, and sleigh bells.
This combination gives you the best of both worlds. Organic, playable percussion that feels real, combined with sound design elements that push far beyond traditional libraries.
Designed to Drop Straight Into Your Tracks
Once everything was recorded, we pushed the material hard.
We designed drones, pads, pulses, loops, and massive hybrid textures that are ready to use right out of the box. These are not sounds that require hours of tweaking. They are built to inspire immediately and sit in a mix without fighting your track.
Whether you are scoring for film, TV, or games, Impact Foundry gives you tools that work fast and sound big.
Built With Top-Level Collaborators
We expanded our team for this library, working with over 10 collaborators and giving them a clear goal. Push everything further.
Create bold trailer-style sounds. Build rhythmic content that drives cues forward. Design evolving textures that keep your music moving.
The result is a library packed with usable, production-ready material across a wide range of styles.
